Instructor

Timothy Mahoney (known as Tashi Tim) has been studying martial arts for over 20 years. Starting out in a small traditional dojo in Greenville, N.H., he came to what is now the Tokyo Joe System at the age of 21.

Attaining his 1st degree black belt in 1994, he soon afterward starting teaching on a voluntary basis. In Oct. 2001, he started his career as a professional karate instructor and has not looked back since. After nine years as senior instructor in one location he reached his long time goal of opening his own studio.

Continuing his education, he trains weekly with Grandmaster (10th degree) Robert LaMattina and has trained with such names as Steve (Mad Dog) Curran and George Pesaros, both historical figures in traditional kempo, as well as Professor Thomas Sotis and Guro Felix Valencia, two very prominent combat and real life training instructors.
